ANNOUNCEMENTS

Ladies and gentlemen,

We hope you're all faring well with your midterms. Some announcements:

  • We will be postponing our next general body meeting until after midterms and Spring Break. We have a lot of information to pass, so it will be an important one. In the meantime, please continue checking the blog for updates.
  • CUIT has finished our website. We are currently being trained on it. It will go active in the next couple of weeks. The new website is going to make communications between the E-Board and the general body a lot easier, so we're all looking forward to it, even though I know y'all love our blog.
  • VHA (formerly J-CLEAVE) will be traveling to Washington over spring break to lobby for a grandfather clause in the new G.I. Bill
  • The administration at the School of General Studies has arranged for several Q&A sessions concerning the changes contained in Post-9/11 G.I. Bill (2.0). They have informed us that invitations will go out later this evening. We will announce places and times as that information becomes available.
  • We are planning two social events for the end of this semester: an awards presentation and a BBQ. Currently we are looking at finances and seeing what we can afford.
  • The E-Board will be presenting next year's budget proposal to ABC in April. The next general body meeting will be an opportunity for you to propose ideas for next year. We will try to get funding for as much of these things as we can.
  • For those who were interested in applying for one of the Deutsche Bank positions, we are still arranging a resume workshop. We will be announcing dates for the workshop and the Deutsche Bank event soon.
  • We've been contacted by Google and are actively working with their HR and diversity people to try to open up opportunities for Columbia veterans.

Best,
Matthew Bishop
Vice President
