Ladies and Gentlemen:
It is my pleasure to inform you that today Rep. Miller (R-FL) has introduced hold harmless, or “grandfather” legislation to the House of Representatives. The cost neutral bill, titled the “GI Bill Restoring Fairness Act of 2011”, must be first reviewed then promoted by the Milvets V.H.E. Committee. A copy of Rep. Miller’s is available below, I ask that you read and scrutinize the legislation.
Additionally, I ask that you continue to encourage friends, family, and even casual acquaintances to advocate for the bill by writing their Representatives. We must maintain awareness as the bill is introduced and subsequently addressed during session. Remember its introduction does not mean it will become law and it is our responsibility that during this process we continue our advocacy.
Sen. Schumer (D-NY) will introduce his version to the Senate. Sen. Schumer’s bill will be made available here as well, once we receive a copy. If you have questions, concerns, or suggestions please do not hesitate to contact me at Milvets@gmail.com.
