The Military Veterans of Columbia University joined other Veteran's groups this Memorial Day at the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument on Riverside Drive at 89th Street. The ceremony commemorated the 150th anniversary of the Civil War with a musical tribute and a procession of historic color guards led by the New York Scottish Pipes and Drums. Milvets and other veteran, civic, and heritage organizations laid twenty wreaths at the landmark monument in a solemn ceremony.
